GA 16-2. Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to reduce the potential for, or the appearance of, a conflict of interest or other impropriety between the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine (“WVSOM”) administration and the WVSOM Board of Governors in the event a Lay Member, as defined herein, of the WVSOM Board of Governors wishes to apply for employment at WVSOM while serving as a Lay Member of the WVSOM Board of Governors.

GA 16-3. Definition

“Lay Members” means those nine members of the WVSOM Board of Governors appointed by the Governor of the State of West Virginia, as set forth in West Virginia Code § 18B-2A-1.

GA 16-4. Policy

No Lay Member of the WVSOM Board of Governors may apply for employment with WVSOM without first resigning his or her position on the WVSOM Board of Governors.
