Research Interests

Our lab’s research investigates both macro-level physiological changes in the cerebrovascular system associated with aging, as well as the molecular mechanisms driving these changes. Our current work focuses on the interaction between protein arginine methyltransferase 4 (PRMT4) and Notch1 signaling, and how this relationship affects blood-brain barrier stability in aging models. Additionally, we are studying calcium signaling in astrocytic regulation of deep brain vasculature during acute global cerebral ischemia using in-vivo cerebral microscopy.
