The purpose of this procedure is to provide specific guidance to assist the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine ("WVSOM") with implementation of and ensure institutional compliance with WVSOM's Institutional Policy GA-02: Institutional Mission Statement.
This procedure applies to institutional members as relates to the institutional mission statement.
WVSOM reserves the right to amend this procedure at any time, as necessary or appropriate.
WVSOM will develop and maintain a mission statement that explains the overall purpose of its program and serves as a guide for program planning and assessment.
The institutional mission statement must be reviewed at least once every five years.
The institutional mission statement should be revised, as appropriate, in consideration of the school's growth and continued development. Input from staff, faculty and students must be considered in the review and revision of the institutional mission statement.
