W. Va. Code § 18B-1-6
The West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine Foundation, Inc., is a separate non-profit 501(c)(3) organization established in 1978 to advance the cause of education in the osteopathic medical profession and assist in the development and growth of the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, its faculty, and its students.
With the exception of items that may be of immediate use (such as library books) or as otherwise determined by the President, the Board or donors, gifts to the School will normally be received by the Foundation, and managed according to the policies and procedures of the Foundation and the donor’s intent.
