All applicants approved for admission to the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine will be subject to a criminal background check. The background check shall occur after the second deposit deadline, but prior to matriculation.
A criminal background check shall be conducted on all students during Year 2 of the program in order to be eligible for promotion to Year 3. Results of the criminal background check shall be made available to the Associate Dean for Predoctoral Clinical Education, and said results will be shared, upon demand therefore, with affiliated hospitals and clinics which require such reports for acceptance of the students at the affiliated facilities.
No students will be accepted into a Statewide Campus site without completion of such criminal background check.
