Sigma Sigma Phi is the National Honor and Service Fraternity for the osteopathic medical profession. The objectives and purpose of Sigma Sigma Phi Nu Chapter are as follows:
The fraternity is its own separate non-profit organization which provides many community services through various fund-raising events. An invitation to apply is extended on the basis of academic standing. The selection process includes the following:
Sigma Sigma Phi adheres to the WVSOM non-discrimination policy.
Aside from academic excellence, Sigma Sigma Phi members take great pride in our dedication to community service. As a member of Sigma Sigma Phi, you are required to participate in community service, while maintaining academic excellence. Our signature community service event is Heart of the Holidays. This event is Sigma Sigma Phi's largest, best appreciated and most successful event of the year. During Heart of the Holidays, Sigma Sigma Phi helps Greenbrier County families who are in need by providing toys, food, and monetary support for the holiday season.
Faculty, staff, and students participate in the activity by purchasing specific gifts from the "angel tree." The event culminates with a celebration in December which includes the presentation of the gifts to the families, a Holiday dinner, music, and an appearance from Santa Claus. The smiles on the children's faces are absolutely heartwarming.
