W. Va. Code § 18B-1-6
W. Va. Code R. § 133-4
The purpose of this policy is to reduce the potential for, or the appearance of, a conflict of interest or other impropriety between the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine (“WVSOM”) administration and the WVSOM Board of Governors in the event a Lay Member, as defined herein, of the WVSOM Board of Governors wishes to apply for employment at WVSOM while serving as a Lay Member of the WVSOM Board of Governors.
“Lay Members” means those nine members of the WVSOM Board of Governors appointed by the Governor of the State of West Virginia, as set forth in West Virginia Code § 18B-2A-1.
No Lay Member of the WVSOM Board of Governors may apply for employment with WVSOM without first resigning his or her position on the WVSOM Board of Governors.
