Guest Graduation Seating

It is open seating on the day of graduation; families cannot reserve seats ahead of time.  A large video wall will be located inside the tent so that everyone will have a good view of the ceremony.

Reserved Seating Area

A reserved area is provided for people who are disabled and in a wheelchair.  Since we try to accommodate family members to sit with the disabled family member, it is essential that we know in advance who will be sitting in this area.

To arrange accommodations for graduates or guests with disabilities, contact Deborah Harvey at dharvey@osteo.wvsom.edu or (304)647-6301.

Photography

WVSOM photographers will photograph each graduate as they are hooded. These photographs, as well as the graduate portraits, will be available in an online gallery approximately four weeks after graduation.

Family members and friends are welcome to take photos when you are on stage but are asked to be considerate of the staff photographers and other graduates and their families.

Live Video Stream

The Graduation Ceremony will be recorded and streamed live.  Students will be provided the video link so that family members and friends who are not able to attend can view the ceremony.  In addition, the live video stream will be broadcast to the Tech Building Classrooms for those families who prefer to watch the ceremony in an indoor environment.  You will be able to access the graduation video following the ceremony as well.

Misc Information

The Ceremony will last approximately 2.5 hours. The tent is set up on our grass parade field in the center of campus. The tent is air-conditioned. After the ceremony, we will have a reception located in the Main Building Hallway and the Roland P. Sharp Alumni Center. The WVSOM bookstore will also be open following graduation.

Courtesy

Please ask your family not to use air horns to celebrate your graduation as a courtesy to others.  It is okay to yell and scream!

No animals, other than licensed or certified service animals, are permitted inside the tent.  If you bring a pet inside the tent, you will be asked to leave with the pet.
